A couple of months ago I saw my favourite female singer,Dana Winner perform in my home town. At the end of her show she did this fabulous song accompanied only by piano, probably a true Steinway cause it sounded fabulous. I was slightly aware that the song had become famous due to the rendition of Adele but was ignorant about the fact that it is in fact a Bob Dylan composition. I tried and convinced our eldest daughter to record it with me and here is the result.I still remain a keyboard player at heart so one has to make some allowances for my piano playing which was actually done with the 15 year old Yamaha P80.( including background strings). My musical buddy Carlo added bass guitar and did the final mastering as well as the video. We owe him our gratitude ! Hope you enjoy this interpretation.
This kid by the way today celebrates her 25th birthday and has flourished into a lovely and independent young woman.... Although I have recorded countless songs with my arranger keyboards of which most of you have heard at least some, I figure this "simple " excercise on the old yamaha P80 combined with Anouk's voice and Carlo's efforts ranks among my personal best. One of these months I am going to give the Roland FP30 a trial run and see whether it will be able to enhance my piano playing.
Its always great making music together with others, and i must say i like the singing of your daughter...
I even like this one better..
It doesnt make me compare her with the Adele version.. Because i am so much in love with the warmth of the voice of Adele, thats quite unfair to her...
I dont think she is a professionally trained singer, which makes her performance even better... I would love to hear her sing trough the Korg Pa4x vocaliser... that might just give some awesome results...
