#420548 - 04/27/16 07:36 AM Another Ketron SD9 video - this makes no sense!

I found this demo by Marcello Colo.

In the end he briefly speaks about the SD40 and says that its sounds (and styles?!?) are identical to the MidJPro, "which people have known since last year".

This makes no sense at all: Ketron states the SD40 is identical to SD7. But MidJPro and SD7 are not identical, AJ explained earlier that MiJPro has fewer samples, and everyone knows it has far fewer styles. Additionally, the MidjPro has been out for much more than one year.

Was Marcello Colo a bit confused when he made this statement? If he had said "identical to the SD7" it would be in line with all other statements from Ketron and AJ. "Identical to MidJPro in sounds and styles" makes no sense at all.

Not much in the way of styles demos either - seems to be all about
the sounds.

I received an answer from Marcello Colo on Youtube regarding SD 40, MidjPro and SD 7:
Quote:
"Just to be more clear ;-) MJ Pro and SD 40 have same sound generator
but on Sd 40 ther'not DJ function and a Player less . SD 7 and MJ Pro
carry same wave table but ther's a bit difference on Style section and
else . SD 9 have a improved Sound generator which come from SD 7 plus
new wavetable ( Pianos strings winds and son on )"

No, that wasn't a typo, he meant SD7 plus new wavetable.

Thanks....

But also the soundengine of the SD9 should more advanced in functionallity then the SD7?
Atleast thats what AJ stated and what i get from reading the prospectus on the website..

I definately hope to see more information about the specific advancements of the soundengine, as well as the style engine.. You can say about Ketron what you want, but they still try to be innovative...
