This is a video from mike Martin promoting the new MZ-X500 at summer Namm..

Its a synth workstation.. Even Casio knows that this instument currently cant compete with the traditionall arranger brands when it comes to arranger features and quallity sounds...

Mike Martin doesnt even touch the arranger features.... Same as Ralph maten ...

Not marketing as an arranger is not a fault but a choice backed up with reasons...

Gosh, I guess they shouldn't have called it an arranger.

However Casio is marketing it or whatever you think it should be called, if it doesn't do what you want don't buy it. Pretty simple. And if it really isn't an arranger (despite the opinion of a at least one forum member who actually owns one) you shouldn't discuss it in this forum. Done. Let's move on.

Rather brusque

I don't think everyone necessarily realized it.

Holy crap! I've got the most rare unicorn of Casio keyboards then. Mine has these things (there's like 300 of them) that arranger players would call styles..., but wait.., it gets better! Each one has dedicated buttons called intros, endings, fills, variations, ect. There is even a single button that turns on this crazy feature called Auto Accomp. Man did I get lucky.., I got me a keyboard that's not an arranger, but someone at Casio messed up and sent me one. It's gonna be worth a fortune in a few years I guess.

Let me make this easier for you Bachus. Pull up a pic of the MZX500. Place your finger over the pads "so you can't see them".., and VOILA! It's like magic..., because you will be looking at a typical arranger keyboard. All Casio did is take a traditional arranger, add a sampler with pads, their HEX system, some new EDM kits and a few styles to go with them. It's really not that complicated.

Spalding..., the issues have been fixed. A firmware update is coming next month. Mike Martin confirmed this.., and stated that the boards at the show all had the beta version of that firmware installed.

I've heard this more then once from players about the Casio MZ x500 ...

"Nice design, but the sounds & styles are lacking"

I have yet to personally play one but I have yet to play one myself
hope they are wrong.

What! They messed up and sent you an arranger too! Well.., there goes my resale fortune. Hmmmm.., Casio might want to stop sending people keyboards that aren't arrangers.., with a full arranger section, if they want to stay in business.

The problem is probably that no one at Casio can play it as an arranger.

Probably...

But it gets one thinking about Casio... No clue why they dont call it an arranger workstation... As thats what the tools clearly indicate...
