Hi Donny,
My wife and I usually perform with 2 Bose L1 compact a mixer and VoiceLive3.
The sound is awesome and we are happy with it.
We are thinking of trying one Bose straight to the S970 and the Mics into the KB for smaller gigs up to an hour.
Here is my question:
Everything works fine and the sound is decent enough, except the Mic volume.
I have to turn the styles down to 80 and the Mic up to 127 and max in the back to have enough volume.
I adjusted EQ and compressor in the KB already which gave me a little more, but not much.
We are using Telefunken M80 Dynamic Mics, which are awesome.
Any thoughts? Wisdom? wink
Thanks a lot
Eric

Eric, Are you using an mic impedence transformer? If not, you'll have to. That should take care of any volume issues.

Hi Jingleman.
Thanks for the answer.
I just tried my set up adding my trusted Mackie Mixer.
The preamps took care of it. smile Great sound.
I'll get a smaller mixer for those small gigs and all is well smile

Eric first off what type of mics are you using? I had this problem also especially with my Senn mic... I find that different ones give different gains big time...
My EV ND767 works best when used without a mixer & kb ....but I always use a small mixer eg: Yamaha Mg06x as the pre amps with the KB & Mics it will give up more lift in volume plus more versatility in adjusting vol of mics & KB to balance it during performance ....hope this helps..

Thanks Donny,
As mentioned above I am using Telefunken M80 Mics.
They are great. smile
As you said I will go with a small mixer for better preamps and flexibility.
Eric

Hey Eric...

My wife and I use the PSR-S970 for gigs. We use a Sonar (Roland) VS100. Got it a few years back for only $199. It has 2 mic pre amps... But most importantly, it has compression and FX built in. I love the SD card to either record our gig or to have WAV file backups of our gig arrangements.

Do you use your EV sub with the Bose Compacts?

Also, do you have any videos of your act?

Eric, does the mic require phantom power?

Eric do you also have the "assignable knobs" set for Mic Vol/styles etc,?.... and boost compression settings (CMP)also can help a bit.

This section explains how to make and save the detailed settings for the microphone/guitar.
1 Connect a microphone or guitar, press the [MIC SETTING/VOCAL HARMONY] button
(PSR-S970) or [MIC SETTING] (PSR-S770) button to call up the operation display, then
press the [A] (MIC/GUITAR) button to set it to ON.
This lets you talk into the microphone or play the guitar and hear the changes made while setting the
parameters.
2 Press the [B] (EQ/CMP) button to call up the EQ/CMP SETTING display.
3 Select the desired page, MIC/GUITAR or TALK, by using the TAB [E][F] buttons.
NOTE The settings on the TALK page are the settings that are active when the [F] (TALK) button is on.
4 Use the [A]–[E] buttons to select the specific row (or group) of parameters to be
adjusted.
5 Set the value of specific parameters in the row by using the [1 ]–[6 ] buttons.
For information on each parameter, see pages 89–90.
NOTICE
After setting, go to the EQ/CMP SETTING MEMORY display by pressing the [I] (USER MEMORY) button and save the settings (see
page 89). The settings will be lost if you exit from this display or turn off the power to the instrument without carrying out the Save operat

Hi Jonathan,
Thanks for your reply.
I will get a small mixer that should take care of it.
Yes, I am using my sub. It is a perfect match for the Bose.
Sorry at this time I don't have any videos.
I am hoping to do some in the near future as we are going to create a website.

Eric
