So I'm sitting there doing paperwork at my desk with the news on in the background. Suddenly I heard the word "uh" repeating. I knew who it was.....our Commander-in-Chief not using a teleprompter. This time he sounded like he was really groping for words, with an "uh" every few seconds.

Nothing wrong with that, but this time I noticed every time the "uh" came out, it was the same scale note. I matched it to a D on the piano. Interesting.....every single time he came up with an "uh" it was a D.

Then I listened to a speech by "her." When she's improvising and not using a teleprompter, all of her "uh's" were again the same "note."

That bit of trivia and a silver dollar will get you a ham salad sandwich at Dunkin' Donuts!

Back to my paperwork.

Mark

P.S. Please don't make this post into a political discussion.

Don't be ridiculous. It's NOT about "blah".......and.......I didn't "just did."

If I wanted to talk about "blah," I could give you a mouthful about "blah!" And it would be in The Bar where more folks would be more likely to comment on a political discussion.

Or maybe those who think I manipulate words do so themselves?

Why is it that some are prone to "looking for a fight" and missing the actual point that a poster makes. This happens in here often enough to notice it.

If you can't say something nice, say nothing!

Lastly......with this topic, I thought I'd throw in something different in the Forum to talk about. Thanks for reminding me that the next time I go to do that, I will gently put my hand over my mouth and hang a sign that says "Do Not Open Until Christmas!"

Finally, I really don't appreciate being attacked for a post I submitted as a humor gesture. Or maybe I should have also determined what key the other candidate does his "uh's in? But then those who look for something to be wrong will find it!

Well, I think that statement pretty much proves my point. Uh...maybe you want to think through your responses before putting pen to paper smile smile.

PS: Mark, if you don't want start a 'political' discussion, then don't make the President the subject of the post. Just a friendly tip smile.

Hi Mark.
What is wrong with discussing things? Who says we have to agree ?Why posting something if you don't want responses? And why using code names for our beloved politicians? And are we that arrogant and that much full of crap(shit) to talk anything about your "blah" guy when your democratic choice is either Trump or Hilary. Over 300 million people and these are your two choices? Are people really this dumb, or do people really have no saying in this matter?

Of course you did. Otherwise your posting makes no sense. But it is obvious what you are saying. How did you intend it to be interpreted? Please let us know. If you are trying to say it wasn't political you are the one being ridiculous. I don't mind that it was political but I do mind that you pretend it was otherwise after specifically referencing 2 political figures. Though maybe you really don't grasp why I would say that in which case I am very sorry you don't.

Chas........let me say this as friendly as I could, since you just gave me a "friendly tip."

What part of "If I wanted to talk about "blah," I could give you a mouthful about "blah" did you not understand? In layman's terms, it means to me that if I wanted to talk about politics, I'm not one to mince words or lay down a smoke screen to try and disguise something. Where I live everyone is a "straight shooter".....we say what we mean! The translation for that is simple: If I wanted to talk about politics I would have just come out and said it.

Now let me ask you something? Why did you feel it necessary to attack my post? I put it up in good faith because I thought it was something novel to talk about....something different from the run-of-the-mill posts that have been happening lately. And this is what I get for trying to add some sparkle to the discussions.

So the question again is: Why did you feel it necessary to attack my post? Dollars to donuts you don't answer the question!

Mark

Hi Anthony,

I happen to like you as a person even though I very rarely ever agree with what you write in The Bar.

Now you say "What is wrong with discussing things?" There is nothing wrong with discussion......when it's discussion. When it's persecution....well, THAT is not discussion.

Further, I view you (in your writings in the Bar) as a person who does NOT discuss things. You look at issues through one set of lenses. True or false? I didn't see you "discuss" what I meant in this post. You just threw out the crap from all directions. True or false?

Yes, I write "code names" because I'm smart enough to know every bit of the Internet is under computer government surveillance and you don't want to draw attention to yourself or the Synthzone. And, BTW, that's the most powerful reason I don't get into politics on the Internet (or anywhere for that matter).

As for the rest of what you wrote, I don't appreciate your making my simple light-hearted post into a three-headed monster.

Please stay in The Bar if you need to do that and pick someone who is into all that jive. As for me, I'm 100% musician....been that way all my life and that's all I want to talk about is music and related issues. It seems that's what you're NOT wanting to talk about in this "music" forum!

Your friend,
Mark

Nigel.........I'm smart enough not to lock horns with you because you hold all the aces.....you own the group.

Further, I never got the feeling you liked me that much as a member to begin with from previous remarks you made so it's a stacked deck for me. It darn well pains me and humiliates me to have to back down from an insult, but that's just what I'm going to have to do if I want to stay in the group....eat humble pie, and......"back down!"

From my book of wisdom:

We have been given the right to choose what we believe in. This belief is given to others as an opinion. The problem is that people believe their opinions/beliefs are the correct ones; and so we have arguments, anger, and wars.

If I respect another person’s opinion; and allow that opinion to be given without criticism, I have the same right to be respected myself. The way we handle this subject tells more about ourselves than the other person.

I am a counselor at my church and a Care Giver for my wife who has incurable cancer--- My wife and I attend a Cancer Support group of about 45 members. It is amazing how one’s outlook changes when reality comes. The room is filled with laughter, respect and caring for others.

I try my best to bring love and respect to whatever I am involved in, so if I have offended anyone on this forum with my opinion, I apologize.

John C.

And you are right – this belongs in the Bar.

John, you're the best, my friend! Proud to know you, even though it's from a distance.
I don't visit the Bar because it angers me. Conservatives aren't going to change their minds and neither are Liberals so I don't try.
But don't try to take away my guns, just in case. No smiley face here.

...and luckily, 'blah' hasn't tried to do that; just a bunch of fear-mongers trying to make you THINK that. However, is it just coincidence that in countries such as Australia (and a few others) where one cannot own a personal gun, the murder rate is a fraction of what it is here in the US.

There have been a few times in my life when I've felt threatened, and as I look back upon them, I am SO, SO thankful that I DIDN'T have a gun. The thought of taking someone's life in a momentary fit of anger (in a situation that I could have just walked away from) would haunt me the rest of my life. And in all these years, I've never needed a gun to protect my family (maybe I'm just lucky) except for the 10 years I spent in the military. I'm not a Super-patriot but I do feel one has a duty to defend one's country in times of war, but I feel equally strongly that WE shouldn't be the ones STARTING THE WARS. But that's just me. Your opinion may vary. Anyhoo, let's not go down this road as Mark didn't want this to turn into a POLITICAL discussion smile smile.

Chas good words.
I remember hearing a noise in the bathroom in the middle of the night; I took my hunting knife and held it front of me as I walked towards the bedroom. I had four children and a lovely wife – she was 29 and I was 30. No one was going to hurt them.
As I approached the bathroom I could hear breathing. The closer I got to the bathroom the louder it got – it was coming from the center of the bathroom. I held my knife in position and put on the light. My precious tiny 6 year old daughter was staring at the knife. I could have hurt that precious child.

I never want to be put in a position to kill a human being; so I will not own a gun. Now that’s for John – anybody else can own as many guns as they wish, that’s alright for me.

John C.

PS, What if someone was attacking your wife, what would you do? I guess I would bite him or hit with my KN 7000; which I might add is dam heavy. (Nigel, does the last part make this post eligible for this forum? )

Chicago has the strictest gun laws in the U.S. How's that working out? There are studies about the Australian scenario that say murder rate is up and others that it is down. In most countries where it has been implemented murder rates have sky rocketed. It's easy to find the reports.
I've never pulled my gun on anyone, except once (and that time it may have saved my life and that of my wife when we were accosted in Memphis). I didn't have to fire it on that occasion and I'm so glad of that. But I am highly trained in the use of it and in the safety aspects. Got my first one when I was 12 years old and already knew how to handle it from my dad. I still work part time for the Sheriff's office, patrolling a day or so each week. Have not had to use my gun there either, thank God. If you don't believe in God, then you don't have to thank Him, but you can thank the peace officers that are armed and who risk their lives every day to protect your families.
Mass murderers ONLY have struck in the U.S. where they know that guns can't be legally carried.
You know my position and it won't change, so I won't follow this thread any more. It is out of place anyway.
