I use all three; each having their strong and weak points. For loading PDFs, Android is a snap. Windows is needed for my Karaoke and Notation programs, and iPad has it's programs, but I dislike having to go through iTunes, ugh.

For years I used Android and Windows. Went to an iPad a couple of years back for Yamaha keyboard apps and because I was teaching. Then I bought an iPhone.

IOS(Apple) is just OK in my book... nothing special. Android/Windows more flexible and less expensive.

In a year, when my contract is up, I'll probably go back to Android and a Windows based tablet...especially if that tablet has a USB connection....iPad missing USB connection which makes the iPad much less useable for me.

Re: technology. I've always been into technology...not great at it...but enjoy it.

My wife, bless her heart, encourages me on keyboards/technology BECAUSE of the learning process. She says its good for my brain.

However, some of my techie friends avoid arrangers because they involve computers and technology is not a strong point for them.

After seeing numerous acts here just play basic and live I'm questioning all the technology we chase. I can do what I need to with my BK9. Just wish I could call up registrations from my IPad. I have some info on midi messages etc. but I'm too lazy to dissect it all. I learn by watching and doing, wish there was a video tutorial for that.
Been getting back to backs piano lately and just took a teaching job at a music store here. More for mental exercise than money.
When I was a technology teacher I used to tell the kids to try a lot of different thing and you will find out what you really need and like. You can't do it all.

Thanks Tony
Since retiring I miss working with kids and I'm happy some want to learn real music on a real instrument.
We'll see how it goes. Like I said its for me as well as them.

Bill, these days I play primarily for seniors and believe me it is more for me than it is for them ... but thank God we are able to do what we do ...

Eddie honored me twice by thanking me here on the forum. Wow, but --- When two open-minded musicians meet the learning goes two ways.

After watching Eddie use his IPad with the keyboard I learn two things:
1- Tap the Ipad on the right side brings up the next song in the set.
2- He used Velcro to hold the IPad onto the keyboard. I cut down the music rack to the IPad dimensions and used to support the IPad.

And then ----- I packed up my laptop and put it away.

Thank you Eddie.
