Has any used a bass amp as a subwoofer? At times, I can use a little more bass for Centerpoint Stereo amp. I have not found really small subwoofers. I tried out a studio subwoofer. It's hard to tame the thumping bass fronm it. So I am looking for a small but good bass amp.

Thanks,
Chris

I bought a little Kustom powered sub a few months ago. Does just enough. Don't know the wattage, but it's perfect to use with a Carvin 200 watt main with 2 12"'s and horns.

Look them up! $199.00, i think, and fine for my 500 customer patio jobs.

I have two of these for over 25 years - awesome little workhorses. I use them for bass guitar, rhythm guitar, or main PA subs with the Bose Compacts.

The Microbass sure looks like a nice amp. Light, too. I learned that subwoofers tend to have thumping bass while bass amps give natural bass sounds with all the overtones.

For a small bass assist with my Spacestation, I tried my old Logitech Z2200 sub and was very pleased, especially since it is half the size of my Behringer.

Yes, a home HIFI subwooder will work well. I had connected a cheap 10 inch HIFI subwoofer to my SS3. It sounds good but the sub is not guite road friendly. Today I picked up a nice Harke bass amp.
I don't know if you've visited the 162 page long thread on the SS3 at Musicplayers.com, but owners are doing some creative things with their SS3. I've got some good results by connecting my 20 pound Acoustic Image Corus also.

Yes, the overwhelming positive feedback is what convinced me to buy one. I am glad I did.
