I followed your directions and got to adust the various drums but later when I tried to do the same I could not hightlight the different drums as they would not work. I must have changed something but what I don't know.

Please, can you help me get back to the screen I need to move the vols. on the drums. I don't dont what to do to get it right.
HELP, Lloyd

Hi Lloyd,
Sorry forgot to check if you're actually altering 0nboard factory styles ( I never do, I usually do a copy and alter those) hence I never remember to ask.

Anyway if you're altering factory styles, you have to unprotect them.
GlobalMode
Preferences
Remove Factory Protect ( UN hi light the blue square)

Choose style
Press on Drum Track
Menu button
Choose Track Controls
Drum edit Tab
Hi light Bass Drum ( or whatever)
Press play ( start/stop) so you can hear track playing
To make sure it's working, I turned bass volume up and down so I know it is working.
Then changed some of the other settings.
If it's playing you can hear changes in realtime as you're doing them.
When finished
Dropdown menu and write.
Not sure what the different ones do, but I really only want to save mine for this particular style, so I've done it as current style settings.

HI Rikki,
thanks for the "how to". I need do adjust some of them too.
Another question - how do you turn on the "ensemble" feature for say only
1 of the variations but not all of them?

Hi Deane,

there may be other options as well.

For Style Play Mode
Choose Sounds
Turn on Ensemble Button

Choose Type of Ensemble

Menu button
Keyboard ensemble
Choose the type( close) whatever

Drop down menu

Choose either
Write to keyboard set library ( if it's a sound setup you want to use again)

Or write keyboard set to style ( if you only want to use it with this style).

Choose the keyboard set ( 1 to 4)

Your sounds and ensemble should be saved to the style in the keyboard set no. you chose.

If you want to write it to the library, just choose an empty user slot to write it too,
from the drop down menu.
You will still have to assign it to one of the keyboard sets.

I'm sure you already know this,
the style to Kbd set button ( above auto fill) if you set it to flashing, your sounds will change
automatically with the variations.

P.s.
If it's a factory style you will have to take off the protection.

Another Pa4x trick is to HOLD DOWN "SHIFT" and then press whatever button you want to work with eg: Ensemble, Upper Octave, etc and it will take you to a menue will pop up to make changes with also,...very kool. cool2

Hi Deane
as I mentioned, could be other ways of doing it, some things have changed between pa3x and pa4x, and the above is how I worked out, how to do it on the pa4x. There may be a better option, haven't had a great deal of spare time to try out the functions.

I've been busy updating my style data base ( I was given latest version of some of the styles ). Now going thru the process again, of removing duplicates and adding any new ones included. There a few new ones, also there are some pa3x styles that weren't included in the pa4x.
Luv the direct play, and copy and paste, it makes it so much easier to audition the styles and sort them.

A few more days and I'll be finished. ( I hope)
One of these days I'll actually get round to playing it , haha.

If you want the updated version, let me know.
