I have googled this and found no answer. I am trying to find a song that when I heard it over 40 years ago floored me with a certain new and unique sound... what I soon learned was a synthesizer. I think this was the first time I had ever heard this sound. It was a Cat Stevens song. My gf and I were at a record store where they sold vinyl (because that is all we had at the time)... or maybe it was 8-track... one or the other but I think it was vinyl.

I did another google search and it may have been Foreigner album. I was thinking it was earlier but 1973, that could fit. Anyone know? This Foreigner album only had four songs. How do you write an 18 minute song, lol?

Now, I am thinking it was Foreigner Suite. I haven't listened to the entire song, but I think that was it because that song name rings a bell. This whole album was very different than what I was accustomed to hearing. I think my gf loved Foreigner Suite and oh my, I was nuts over that one, lol. She was a beaut!

Still unsure. I guess I will have to buy some albums, lol.

Maybe you were referring to Cat Stevens 1977 album, Izitso.

I bought my first monophonic synthesizer in the late 70s. The polyphonic synth was the coolest thing I ever heard back then. Even the earlier 5 note polyphonic synths had that new sound, but very expensive.
