Great, thanks for the info!

I also looked at the Pa1x manual and all Pa50's oscillators (samples/multisamples) are still there (unlike newer pa series), and also there are new ones.

May i ask which version you have (pro or 61 key)?

Thank you all for the replies, very nice community here! smile

I would go all the way and buy a Korg PA4x if you have the funds available, the styles are pretty much compatible and build a new sound set, or just go with the micro arranger and an external controller. I have the micro arranger and I would not sell it and although it's been out some time now, it still holds it's value.

Hi. I have the 76 pro model. My use of arrangers is primarily for gigging so I went to a Pa3x-61 purely because of weight issues on my aging back. I keep the 1x in the house now, though.

It is definitely time to upgrade......

That thing is ancient technologically & sound wise....I have an actual TRITON EXTREME and since I got my KORG PA4X I have played it maybe 3 times.....The sonic difference is huge

The EXTREME pianos sounds cannot compare to todays PA4X....

Steve A Hi!

Our kind of music require more synth-type sounds (pads bells strings organs leads etc...) and less acoustic type sounds (piano guitars basses etc...).

I already tried and heard my friend's Pa4x and i agree that when it comes to physical instrument emulations its great.

The problem i have is that my synth-type sounds, sound a lot brighter and more air-ish in the Pa50 and Triton.

I love my sounds, all i want to do is to transfer them exactly to a newer keyboard and benefit from the new technology.

Makes sense. Wouldn't Kronos be the next logical move then? I can't bring myself to sell my Extreme as I agree those sounds are unique
