... to attach to an X stand ... I would like to mount it similar to the way the 'On-Stage' mic adapter mounts ... any suggestions?

Hi Toni

I have been using the On Stand telescoping boom for several years with various stands and tablets, but have never found the right one for a large tablet(12-13 in). Your thread got me to searching again, and I found this.

Steve ... looking at the 'mounting piece' on the rear of the bookplate

- can I screw a standard boom mic into that?

Bernie ... that looks good but I think (hope) I can accomplish what I need with a boom stand (which I have) and the tablet holder Steve is using ... (at a lesser price grin )

http://www.airturn.com/

Here you can get one of the most used holders with the top page turners.

The Manos holder is exactly the same as The Gig Easy except the brand name. But, the Gig Easy site is unsecure and can't be accessed anymore.

Sometimes you can get B stock on airturn AND if you sign up for their newsletter and wait a little bit they will send you extra discounts.

Stephen,
Take a close look at the GigEasy Universal holder. I have used them now for 3 years and they are great. It will hold my Ipad Pro with no problems at all.

Tony, I got the same thing accessing the Lowes site - it's another scam. Just close and restart the browser and everything should be fine.

I also got one that claimed to be Microsoft and said I had to call their service advisor immediately or my computer would be hacked - It's all BS and people trying to scam you.

Good luck,

Gary

I didn't realize you wanted to use a boom STAND. I come straight out of the back of the keyboard stand with the telescoping boom, and screwed into the holder. A boom stand gets in my way.

I use a mic stand and the gigeasy attaches directly to the mic stand so I have both in one so to speak.

Bernie ... my bad ... I should not have said boom STAND... I meant exactly what you are using ... the iShot G10 Pro looks great, but I think I accomplish what I need with the less expensive On Stage Book Plate ...

I have been getting a similar error for some time from that site. Opening and closing the browser does not help.

That is probably a more conventional way, but I use another boom arm from the other side of my KB stand for my mic. They both tilt in low, giving me unfettered eye contact and no stand to carry. Different strokes--

I have my rig packed up now, but the secret to attaching any boom is the universal attachment that fits into either size keyboard stand arm, and tightens.

Yes, we are both building the same type of set-up, but perhaps with different 'tools' ... I have been using the boom mic attached to the stand for some time now ...

I just purchased the Pro12 tablet and our good buddy and fellow S-Zer Steve is going to help me get it set up ... it will be a while before it is 'fully' functional, but I would like to at least have it - and me - ready for a Memorial Day gig in a few weeks ... I want to be able to use the tablet for lead sheets and also have it connected to the Pa900 so when I call up a song on the tablet the correct settings come up on the KB - same as using the Songbook feature ...
PS you might want to ook into the Pro 12 Tablet ...

Are you saying your tablet slipped out of the Gig Easy holder?

I am afraid so, but it was my fault. Where as my iPad holder, e.g. holds all sides, the Gig Easy would grip my other tablet only on the sides. In a rush, I opened one clip a little to stick a note on it. I was trying to do too many thing at once.

I don't think the On-Stage bookplate tablet holder as any clips or anything to hold the tablet ... I am thinking a couple of velcro strips would be a good addition ...

This is what I am looking at to attach to my KB stand and mount the tablet on ... the boom extension is called a mini-boom and opens 9" to 12" ... I am not sure I will need the 'quick connect' extension, but I will get it and find out ...
I am slowly gaining on the 20th century grin

I bought one of these as a possible alternative to my iPad holder, butI don't have the confidence in it's strength to stay adjusted. It's great for lightweight paper charts, but the iPad needs a rock solid holder to make me feel secure. Maybe mine didn't have the right adjustment, but I had it tightened alot, and it was still very easy to tilt ... in the wrong way. Test carefully - especially if you're using the new, larger tablets.

Tony,
Maybe mine didn't tighten enough, but I just didn't trust it with my 7" iPad - yours is even more top heavy.
