... in the 21st century !!!

My good RI/S-Z buddy Steve came over tonight and spent a couple of hours instructing me on the use of the Pro12 Tablet and how to sync it to my Pa900 ... WOW !!!
I know I have some work ahead of me getting my 'books' onto the tablet, but that will come, especially as I am setting up playlists for gigs ...
Both the KB and the tablet talk back and forth with each other - pick a song from the KB songbook and the corresponding music sheet, lead sheet, what ever comes up on the tablet; pick a song on the tablet and the corresponding styles, STS, etc come up on the KB - with no latency whatsoever ...

And let me say that we often gripe about what the manufacturers are doing when they are designing these magnificent 'computers', but I was 'blown away' by the fact that my Pa900 was BUILT to accept a connection to a tablet, and that KORG wrote a manual of instructions to set it up ...

And I cannot say enough or give enough thanks to Steve for taking the time to instruct me on how to "get 'er done" ...

Thank you gentlemen. Tony you're a good student glad you took the steps into the 21st century. The technology is really fantastic! You're right on Tony we gripe about what the keyboards may lack but they are really great pieces of technology.

Steve has helped me tremendously in getting acquainted with the
Korg Pa4X. He has drove from Ocala to Port Richey to instruct
me on the basics and when back in Rhode Island has emailed me
instructions on how to do various things on the Korg.

He has become a very good friend and never fails to answer any
question I have. He is such a helpful person! Lloyd

Great news Tony, now you can enjoy your keyboard even more. I would love to find someone to teach me how to connect my IPad to my BK-9 to do program changes. I wish Roland would produce a video of how to do it.
Providing info like this about their gear would definitely up sales.

Been saying this for years and pretty much only KORG has made an attempt to teach features to their customers on video "HOW TO" for the most part,......otherwise your on your own to find help in whatever way possible.

I know . Spent some time trying to figure out sending Midi messages from UnrealBook but no go.
I'm hoping to fine someone whose done it and can explain it in simple terms.

Tony/Steve could you write a general how-to outline to get me started on calling up songs from my Pa4x to my Ipad?

Or is it the Ipad that selects the song for the Pa4x? Sounds interesting.

Some not so good news Tony and I are using the Pro12 tablet for this not the iPad. All the instructions and set up were written up by Korg.

Seems like a lot more work to set up the ipad than the Pro12 tablet was.

John, here is a link to the KORG Manual for 'Mobile Sheets Pro' app which I am using on the Pro 12 Tablet.
Once you have the songs set up it will work either way
Touch the song on the iPAD/Tablet and the KB gets set up, select the song in the KB Songbook and the music sheet shows on the tablet ... I LOVE it ...

My UnrealBook is already loaded with my songs, so I will have to go through how to connect to iPad and Pa4x and how to enter the midi numbers for each song.

No complaining here but after watching the video 2 times I found that I was beginning to stutter. (smile)

John, I've been a long time fan of unReal book and have used it the last 4 or 5 years. But when this Pro12 came along for the bargain price and larger size I was sold on it.

To make the transfer what I did was upload all my unReal book files to Google drive, just for having a Gmail account you get 15 gigs of storage space. My 2000 lead sheets take up under 10 gigs of that free space. Once I uploaded all my lead sheets I was then able to import them to the Pro12 tablet. What's surprising is how painless it was to set up the Pro12 with the MusicSheets Pro and the PA series arranger. Tony will attest to that once I showed him he took notes and has been moving right along getting his tablet loaded with lead sheets.
