Check out the link and video Steinberg offers a free version of Halion Sonic thats quite amazing Might be a good moment for some to start toying with VST instruments.
Thanx for the heads up Bachus it's all very interesting although myself and I guess many here are not into using VST's vs a Keyboard for whatever reason?, but I could be wrong. All these sounds seem great alone but in a MIX is it all worth the effort and money to buy these programs? I have though many times of indulging ibnto the VST world, but something always stops me...again I could be wrong it's just not my bag. Enjoy and make great music with it.

Free download version doesn’t include any content though, which considering the Free Kontakt 5 Player from Native Instruments does, seems a bit mean on Steinberg’s part. Bill

So, the question is then - is there some free content that can be used with this? Otherwise, what is the purpose of it being free? Thanks!
There is quite some free content available... On top of that, some of the engines dont require samples, like the VA and organ engine.. You can load any patch created by users with Halion 6

Thank you can you maybe point out some of this content...? I think I'd like to give this a try, but I sort of lost contact with available libraries for samplers. In this case HalionSonic.
Thanks.

some of the folks over at Keyboard Corner seem to like this: http://gg-audio.com/
I downloaded the demo but wasn't as impressed as they were. For one thing, the induced 'crackles' in the demo is very annoying. Besides, I've got three hardware organs. However, YMMV.
