is there away to delete/remove the space below the line where that little folder is displayed on the bottom of this folder as shown in the red circle permanently so that the page is bigger all the way to the bottom?

It will either be the preview pane or the details pane, (Not really clear enough to see) just go into the view menu and untick the preview or detail pane to remove.

Hi Dnj,
It could be a "Content" pane. Try right-clicking on some white space inside the New Window folder, select View and then uncheck the Content option if it's already selected. If that doesn't work maybe it's a "Quick Access" bar. If not that then perhaps review your File and Folder Options - look down the list of options for a culprit and turn it off.
That being said I've moved off Win7 to Win10 so can't duplicate your issue. It could very well be the "Details" pane as suggested by Bill above. Here's a link to an article where others have been bothered by it...
