Great!!!
I have been holding off on this software package for a while and I think it's because it's more cumbersome to learn where all 30,000 sounds are within the software. I am so glad the updated this to make it more like what a true keyboard workstation in 2017 should be.

Please Yamaha... take note!

Bachus, a nice improvement over the original ... The dual screen and control was sorely needed on the original... This allows better interaction with the computer..
I am glad to see NI adding pitch and mod wheels...

On the negative side... It still lacks realtime controllers (sliders where are you)..

Geared for the studio...

Sliders without motor is not very good... as when you change preset, the fader are not in the correct position....

If only they allow vArranger to use those 2 screens.... For sure we can do interesting things

Some nice improvements there, although I think that reducing the number of touch sliders to 1 is a bad move.
Personally while the keybed is better on the NI Boards, I would still take the Akai Advance Controllers and VIP Software over NI iteration.

I was hoping they had a full maschine and a maschine jam build into... the new maschine mk3 has a build in audio unit, the kontrol has not.

This is the maschine jam..

As the first picture shows, both work very well together with the kontrol keyboard... there is a lot of integration in the new software between the 3 products which makes them work together like a real team..

The Mk2 looks really impressive..
Bachus, the MK2 looks like a nice package, but I excluded the NI hardware VST integration from the start from any consideration. I didn't want to be tied down to a proprietary system. I have been watching the VIP instead as a number of different controllers are supported by it. Still, I could not find one single 88 hammer action key controller supported by the AKI VIP. This is why I like vArranger being able to play styles from different formats, but I didn't buy the optional soundfonts because you can't use them in other DAWs or hosts.

Anyway, today I found out that you can buy just the sofware VIP 3 and use any keyboards with it. I am completely satisfied with Gig Performer creating and managing my custom instruments and control out of all my VSTs. So unless the VIP 3 offers features Gig Performer doesn't, I will stick with GP. Maybe the VIP can be used along with GP, I don't know. I like the idea of being able to use any keyboard with it, though.

Vip3 new functions are mostly catch ups with NI kontrol..

In general before the release of NI komplete mk2
Vip was more aimed at live playing
Where ni komplete was more aimed at studio integration..

With the new maschine integration in NI komplete keyboards, NI made a huge step for live performing...

The best part (to me) of this new mk2 version, is the combination of joystick/rotary encoder/push button in the main controller... this is so intuitive, where it comes to edditing VST visually.. it just moves your mousepointer over the screen like a mouse would... just grab the value by pushing... and then change it by moving the knob... this allows for realtime one hand edditing any thing in the vst based on the visual...

Yes, I've seen it before, but I missed something important; VIP 3.0 is not only a standalone but it is also a VST plug-in, which means I can use it in my Gig Performer. That is a truly free system.

NI might come out with an 88 keyboard version, but then again I don't want to be tied down to one particular, proprietary system.

I guess you also get VIP 3.0 for free if you have or buy some midi controllers like this one. It is $99. https://www.amazon.com/Akai-Professional...words=akai+mpk2

You might as well buy it and get the software for free.
