Yup ... it's a lot of money, but if it addressed MY needs, I'd be writing a check. Some think the 4x is way overpriced. The Tecnics line was SKY high priced ... the market will bear what it deems justified. Personally, 5-6 grand for a very versatile pro tool that can be effective for over 20 years, in the right hands is a solid business investment. Yeah, yeah, I know - business school says it's NOT an investment. I say whatever I use to enhance my business can be thought of as an investment in my success.
Gary ... you're on.
(I KNOW you want to chime in)

Maby if I win the lottery I buy one smile No it is a instrument for the pro who earns his money with it. Not for me.

Nobody is going to ask Rick Wakeman if one of his keyboards is a 'wise investment'. That's only a consideration if you really can't comfortably afford it; therefore, it's more a case of how much discretionary income/money you've got. If it doesn't impact you financially, then who cares how much it costs. JMO.

Dave, if you can enhance or increase your business income by purchasing the Genos, then it IS a business investment. If your income remains the same, it's just another, moderately expensive, toy. Keep in mind the same folks that are claiming the Genos is expensive have no qualms buying or leasing a car that has all the bells and whistles, when they could have saved $15,000 on the same model by not going for the power everything, funny lights, 10,000-watt stereo system, touch screen navigator, etc... Amazing!

Fran, if you hit the lottery, you can buy a nice sailing yacht and install a Genos, and have a half-dozen college girls in bikinis take care of the boat's daily maintenance. I saw a bunch of these in Florida along the Intra Coastal Waterway near Fort Lauderdale. I'm sure these guys were either lottery winners, or sold drugs for a living. wink

Chas, I agree! (Wow - did I just type that?) wink

All the best,

Gary cool

Well the demos sold me, but I can't afford it. So I'll wait for the PSR and see how many features trickle down.

Hey, I nearly always agree with Chas when it comes to music, sound, economics. . . The love of music easily overcomes everything else. Even Jazz. smile

Okay, so now I just have to work on his politics, religion, and taste in music smile smile smile.

Talent, intellect, and sense of humor; that has always been what makes Don one of my favorite 'zoners', even if we don't always agree on everything. Maybe it's our shared Native American heritage (grandmother 100%, me 25%).

Well, I’m still sitting on the fence, as a Yamaha person with two arrangers. I’ve watched all the Genos videos to this point and, yes, it sounds good, but I still need to see a longer demo that hits it out of the park. I’d like to see some of the various features shown and explained in detail. May have to read the manual, which is never fun----or, wait on the Tyros Tipsters, or Peter what’s his name.

Love the Yammie pedal steel sound...wish I had that on my 4X...

That said, I'm not hearing that the Genos is better sounding than my 4X...at least on the videos.

Thing is, until someone spends some time with Genos, the reviews are pretty much speculation in my mind.
