In my world i don't see many female keyboardists performing live on stage.. and if they do they play piano's. Seems in Brooklyn they gathered them all an made a video of it, most of them playing vintage synths.

Which brings me back to my question, why are female keyboardists so rare onstage?

"Mary Light". She is good, and most likely classical music educated.

I suspect it's because they either physically cannot, or do not wish to, lug all that gear and set it up every time they perform. I only know of one female arranger keyboard player here that performs on stage regularly. She works the nite club circuit weekends, and teaches music during the week in the local high school.
