Im confused didnt you buy the space station for this reason also?

Out of curiosity, how do you use the Mauii 28’s differently than your Mauii 5?

However, to answer your question, the SSV.3 is a great PA but somewhat lacking in bass and close to 35lbs.

Thanks for all the responses.

My original purpose in buying the Bose S1 Pro was for a practice amp and small, intimate gigs.

When I tried the S1 out, I realized that the S1 had potential for larger settings. Although, truth be known, I won’t know if one Bose S1 works in a larger setting until I try it at a gig next week.

The other, for me, larger issue is weight. Two Bose S1’s weigh less than any other single amp I have.

I would not have ordered another S1 but the place I got the first one had a promotion. So I ordered it with the understanding that I could send it back.

Any of the PA/AMPS mentioned in this thread are excellent depending on their purpose used.

I have heard the lack of bass from others with the SSV.v3 also that's a shame it's a nice concept..

The Maui 28s are for big gigs much more power and a different speaker array design,....the Maui 5's for smaller venues...

Good luck with whatever rig you put together.....speakers are only a means to an end,.....it's what goes thru them and out to the audiences that matters every single time.

Ironically, all of the big bands, both large and small, even orchestras, when amped, which most are, are amped in mono - not stereo. I don't need no skinkin' stereo! wink

OK, one more post, off to a job, in a 5 - 9" winter storm warning!

Before I turned on the 2nd speaker last night, I tried mono. Half my instruments were gone, or compressed into one local sound. When I turned the 2nd on, the audience gasped - I had them listen and tell me....unbelievable difference, to our ears. Now, not a physics major, but just the piano alone filled the entire room. Add the beautiful ensembles and band and there is no way I can get that sound in mono (Gary thanks for your piano too, I liked it).

I still want to explore the S1s in stereo, because I did like the detail of the Compact, years back.
