When I play back a midi with lyrics, the lyrics on the screen have no spaces between words. It is very difficult to sing along. HowcanI separate eachword fromthenext.

There are many programs that can add text to a midifile. Not all of them follow the specifications as given by the MIDI Manufacturers Association, see: http://www.midi.org/about-midi/smf/rp017.shtml So I guess you have some files that aren't fully compatible with the SMF+lyrics standard.
