Much had been said about people making music on their phones instead of real instruments .

Here are a couple of examples https://youtu.be/suxkBHzpPQs

https://youtu.be/5s7AScxlvqo

What do you think ? I showed this to my neices and nephews this afternoon . I will tell you what they thought later .

Will this catch on ?

Didn't care for the first one.
It sounds like early Casio KB.
I liked the second one better.
Doing it on a tablet might be more fun though.
I think the younger generation will have some fun with it, but they also get bored easily.
I have a guitar app on my phone.
It's a nice gimmick.
I play House of the Rising Sun or My Sweet Lord and my friends go: Oooohh Aaaahhh.
But still a gimmick.
I like playing my KB better smile smile smile keys
So much more creative.
But who knows where these apps will take us ...
Thanks for sharing
Eric

Just another example of creating music in a different way....
the younger generation will embrace it for sure in the future...cell phones and tablets are their lives to do so many things.

While this is rather about recording, still worth a look https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z0Ytf_9ZqKY&t=541s

I can understand the phone acting as the interface thst you use to record music on but not as the instrument you play through to record in . Things like touch sensitivity glissando or note bending /modulation are very hard to achieve real time when actually playing the phone . Even basic beat making is difficult using just the phone .

I could do it for a giggle but not for any level of real music making .
