Can you LOAD a saved Korg Pa4x Backup.set with (global, keyboard set, pad, pcm, songbook, sound, style, voice preset, etc,) & Backup.BKP files to the Pa1000 to make it just like the Pa4x was with less homework involved..or ?

thanx

Backup files will only load on that specific model.

Set files should load, I don't believe the Global settings will be loaded, but the rest of the set should, or I generally rather load the individual elements/banks, because the Korg MOTL arrangers (1000/900) have less banks than the TOTLs (4X/3X).

Definitely not Donny. On the Korg forum someone is offering the PA4X factory style set geared for use in the PA1000. That can be done but I happen to opt for a different approach in my programming a set of JS Resources. However to get back to your question you can load a style bank or single style, a sound bank or single sound , etc. from the PA4X " All. set " file into the PA1000. The 60 odd PA4X styles not included in the PA1000 can as such easily be loaded onto the PA1000 though some marginal tweaking may be needed as of course the PA4X has more sounds (and their basic samples) in particular in the guitar arsenal. However so far I have not yet noticed great discrepancies....

John

John thanx...I am a bit KORG rusty lol
How about the SONGBOOK entries?.....

Donny,
It sounds like you are thinking of getting a PA-1000?
It is certainly a fantastic board from what I have seen and heard on YouTube so far.
Good luck
Eric

I will give a vote for the greatness of the pa1000. Like any other new board you need to make it yours first. E.Q. COMPRESSOR, MIC SETTINGS ECT. Then stand back and be amazed at what a MOTH ARRANGER CAN DO.

I happen to agree with Mel that the PA1000 is very good arranger keyboard notwithstanding the fact that there are still bugs in it, inevitably so I guess..........

I also agree with the modest review by an Italian musician on the Korg PA1000 forum :
http://www.korgforums.com/forum/phpBB2/v...15333b5b2a86137

As stated the minors are the keybed ( slightly better than the PA900 but inferior to its big brothers) a thing that does not really bother me and the fact that in the firt analysis there are not many truly new styles. The remakes are good to great and the lack off for instance extra PA4X styles can be remedied.
(....in several ways). Sounds are very good, amplification is terrific and so is the harmonizer. The touchscreen is the same as the PA4X. Let us not forget that on average you pay about just over 50% as to what you would fork out for a brand new PA4X and that is not including the PaaS speaker set..............
I guess for home playing and incidental gigging the PA1000 should be among your first considerations. However for general gigging and larger audiences I guess you would have to go for the PA4X or the new Yamaha.......

regards,
John

John
Why would you have to have a different keyboard for larger gigs or if you gig more often. I've used my pa900 and pa1000 for every kind of job
there is and I have never needed more. I sometimes play 10 gigs a week in very large and very small venues and couldn't ask for a better keyboard.
