I'm a "softie" for styles....especially Latin styles.......especially Roland Latin styles! I'd buy a Roland E-A7 just for the huge library of usable styles. In fact, at that price and weight I might just.......buy one! If I have to go through a "stiff" learning curve, I'd rather skip my PA3x and start my education on the E-A7. They should change the Model number though. It sounds like the number on some book binder in a library. Consider something like Roland KingKongKeyboard.

Yes, Roland has put out a very good and wide range of Latin styles. For a long I was searching for the very best tropical Latin styles. My Yamahas were too watered down for me. After I checked out all the YouTube style demos such as the one you posted ( Too bad there’s no where in Texas where you can actually try out arranger keyboards) I went for Ketron Audya. It’s fantastic for salsa, merengue, Cha-cha-cha, modern bachata, but it does seriously lacks in Cumbria, in regional Mexican styles and has nothing even usable for Tejano.
So now when play a gig that requires total Latin variety I bring my Yamaha par 950 with a some regional Mexican expansion packs ( which are superb) and my Audya cover to the tropical Latin. Perhaps a bit overkill for a little gig....

Anyways, Roland was very high on my list, probably second to Ketron, but Roland is first in the variety of Latin styles.

I am very encouraged by the new Yamaha Salsa expansion pack though...

What do you think?

Maybe its me, but most of the "Brazil" sounds were more Mexican or Tex-Mex oriented.

Donny, are there many typical Brazilian and bossa and samba styles on board?

I didn’t hear that at all. Tejano for the most part is a bit like polka but a more aggressive drumming style. Also Tejano music is heavy on synths and accordion. Mexican music varies greatly according to the region .

Paul the EA7 would be a perfect match for your style of latin music...
and traveling with it just one KB under you arm is just heaven too..
