I installed no problem, now to figure out why I did, other than it was free, and the big boys use DAW's.

Bachus....I don't know why Cakewalk is so elusive with a working telephone number.....can't find it anywhere on the net. I Googled Cakewalk screen shots to try and figure out what it actually is these days. I found my original Cakewalk disc(Home Studio 2001) where I just used it to work on MIDI files. Can you tell me what this "free" version actually is. I can assume you can edit wave files nowadays. I don't want to dive back into the technology software stuff. Is this "free" package simple enough to work with for basic needs. I can't figure out exactly what it does from the screen shot.....or.....from the Cakewalk description. I like Cakewalk but back in the old days it was a simple program that filled your needs at the time. Well Cakewalk was bought by Roland... After that it was sold Gibson in 2013 Who pulled the plug out of it Bandlab, the new owner boight the name cakewalk As well as all the sourcecode This company probably has commercial plans with the product after the free release Like selling content..
