We rarely use Cakewalk but while our primary machine was down, we had a chance to mess around with an SD1000 and Cakewalk instrument mapping. If you use Cakewalk and have an SD1000 check out a short video we put together showing it in action: SD1000 and Cakewalk *.ins demo

Sadly I don't. I just took a quick look, and it looks like quite a few of the instrument names/mappings are the same. If you download the SD1000 ins file from our site, you should be able to make a few changes to it, so it works. Just a simple text editor is all you need.
If you are willing to test (and wait on me), I can take a run a modifying the file and send it to you. From there you can test it (since I don't have an SD4 to try it on) and we both win. You have a working config, and I'll host the file on our IMMusic site for other SD4 owners that are interested in doing the same thing.
Let me know and I'll start working on it as time permits.

OK, Curt, I will wait for your file. By the way, Ketron has an INS file for the SD2 on its website. Is the SD2 identical to the SD4 in terms of sound banks?
Thanks, Chris

Curt, I loaded up the SD 4 ins file in Cakewalk, played a few SMFs and played from a keyboard controller. Everything included the drums seems to work fine.
Thank you, Chris
