Those Riffs sure add a lot...

How are we intended to use them..
Since they come with their own chord progression..
would they work best like an interlude?
doesn't look like there is a way to edit the chord progression?

This is one of those barely undocumented features that show how advanced the auto accompaniment feature of the Ketron is. Yamaha, Korg and Rolad seem much more straightforward

Bachus - As you mention, could use a little more documentation. You can change the instrumentation if you want. For example, change from an Acoustic Bass to a Slap Bass, etc. As for the chord progression, you can change chords while the Riff is playing and it will still follow you. Of course, the result varies on what and when you play any "extra" chords. We found it best to use along with other variations in that style as you suggest to change things up a little.

Well, using the riffs as you would with any other variation, could proof disaastrous, in general playing differnet chords at the same time doesnt work well.. what would be cool is if you could set or see the chordprogression of the riff... this would make it possible to improvise for people that have no perfect pitch...

I have another question about the style engine of the SD90/40/9/7
How are atpeggio’s different from normal style patterns?
This is also one of the things the manual is not clear enough for me..

Bachus,

ARPS (on most synths) are triggered by notes played on the entire keyboard. In the AUDYA series, these are triggered either by notes, chords or both and are associated with (but NOT restricted to) the style played.

As you know with most 'technical' equipment, the manual only tells 3/4 of the story. The rest you have to 'experience' in person, but it could have been better written. We will address this in the video with lots of illustrations ofcourse.

Thanks,

Yep.

In the meantime, you can also go to the store where you tried out the SD9 and check the ARPS on it ... same thing, rather than wait for demos (depending on how anxious you are to check it out) ...

Thats true, but that store is not next door.. actually its on the other side of our country where i was born and where i still often visit as my mother and the rest of the fammily love there..

The closest Ketron shop to my home here in Holland is probably atleast 100 miles away

But yes, if i am there, i will go and try them out.. because thats indeed actually the only way to get a real feel about them
