Hmm, I've never played a "Labor Day" themed gig actually. I'll be involved in 2 likely "all-day" (and into the night) jam sessions over this weekend, with 2 groups of friends and ex-band-members, but we'll likely be playing "who-knows-what" depending on desires and requests . . . hadn't thought about "Labor" related songs as a list ...

I play every Labor day, and have never had a thematic set list. In fact, most of those suggestions in your original post would be sure fire party killers at my venues. I've found that Labor day isn't as celebrated (musically) as Memorial day. I'll say it again ... you gotta get another hobby bud. You sit home, and think too much.

A blue collar working union crowd would surly appreciate some of those songs dedicated to the labor force......
all the other silly DJ stock songs or whatever YMCA, Cupid shuffle, Electric slide, etc, can be done later in the evening..

I’m playing at senior community pool party. I’m really hoping nobody actually shows in a bathing suit-LOL

We didn’t really plan any special songs for the holiday, just want to do fun, upbeat material. Coincidentally 9-to-5 is on our set list. Here’s some others we may do:
