Any Nord keyboard fans here?

I’ve enjoyed their demos.

Nord, espescially the stage is a very nice keyboard..
You have 8 parts
- 2 piano/dp
- 2 organ
- 2 synth
- 2 external midi..

If you connect the external midi to left and right hand, for many the 73 synth/organ action stage 3 compact would make a perfect comtroller for an sd40..

Big thing about the sample and piano sid eof the nord stage is you can entirely load your own samples of choice, nothing is set..

I play the Nord 5D with my Genos , some sounds are much better on the Nord ,and the Drawbars are much , much better sounding and working on the Nord.
It is also very easy to make youre own samples with the Nord software.
I also use the D5 solo in a band .with 8Kg ideal to transport this instrument.

Impuls cool

I have a C2D (and a C1) and a KeyB. The KeyB is far more authentic. The Mojo sounds ok but is PC based and the control surface isn't as close to a real B3 as the KeyB. Also, the C2D costs as much as a Legend and IMO there is no comparison. The C2D needs a sound engine upgrade.

The b3 on the mojo runs on a dsp board..
Altough there is also a pc version of the b3 engine.. but thats not the one in the mojo..
The same b3 is in my Gemini module, altough i cant compare it to the KeyB..
i did compare it to my kronos, the montage and a Nord stage...
And the GSI/Crumar B3 is by far the one i like most..

Over on the musicians forum at keyboard corner, people are comtinously in twist which one is better... the mojo or the KeyB... from which we can asume that both instruments are leading the pact..newer mojo’s also have a new keybed thats tweaked to feel exactly like the hammonds, which seems to be of some impact..also the mojo sound gets comtinous updates..

As said, i can’t comment on the Keyb, as i have no personal experience on it..
But when did you last try the Mojo, before or after the latest updates?

Seems you can’t go wrong with either these days..
They are leading the pact before Nord amd Hammond itselves where it comes to B3 clones...

What the Nord (and my gemini) have to offer tough, is more physical models, like church organ and farfisa.. but i don’t think that is important to a B3 purist...

I think the criteria for a 'purist' is going to be different from a casual player and that ergonomics, especially the control surface, is very, very important. Example - full set of drawbars. The controls on the KeyB is about 98% accurate to a real B3, the differences being a few enhancements such as a transpose button or a control to link pedals and lower manual.

Also, I wouldn't dismiss the Hammond so quickly. The biggest knock on the Hammond is the PRICE. The TOTL Hammonds are probably the best of the lot. Just be prepared to mortgage your house smile.
