I meant to get a Studiologic Compact 2 for sometime, but never got around to doing it. Now with the Compact 2x featuring drawbars, I pre-ordered one. I ordered the Cable Kit bundle at Kraft Music for $699. Kraft Music seems to have better deals than Sweetwater. The Compact 2x seems to have a lot going for it especially at $699.
Simultaneous USB Audio/MIDI would be very handy when using VST plugins or IOS devices.

The whole instrument has 2 sounds at once, upper/lower

If you like the action, at this price its a no brainer to buy..
Keep in mind that its no hammer action, but semi weighted synth action(TP9)
Altough the keys are piano sized..(longer then synth)

A very impressive instrument at such a low price.
OK, it's not an arranger but it does prove that arrangers don't need to be so expensive, heavy and bulky (88 keys and only 1 inch longer than my Genos). Easy to carry for us old guys - I just wish they did a 66 or even a 76 key version to drive my modules and add some sounds to them at the same time.
This is a controller with a big plus.

hook it up to a ketron SD90 and your on yur way..nice piece ..
don\t like the tiny small display otherwise kool versatile keyboard.

I am pretty much sure that we will see a high end version of this instrument
A combination of this instrument and the sl 88 grand (masterkey)

The 2x is an incredible instrument for its price..
Yet components are rather low end.
The tp9 keybed for example is the low end brother of the tp8 we know from the Roland G70 amd korg PA4x..

But it promisses much for the future

Yes, I'm aware that the Compact 2x is semi-weighted making a "perfect compromise" for me to do piano and organ on it. 99 slots for user voices are more than plenty for me. I would have been just happy with the tone-wheel organ engine and good acoustic/electric piano. Also, it has some nice provisions for controlling external sound sources.

Also, it weighs just a little over 15 LBS with built-in speakers. They might come out with a 61/76 version, but as a piano player, the 88 key is sure nice. When I had a 76 key arranger keyboard, I always missed the extra octave. The Compact 2x will make a good gigging instrument and controller for my SD40, VST plugins, or vArranger.

Glad i am not the only one who allways feels a 76 keys keyboard is 12 notes short..
