Recent posts have talked about folks on this forum settling in with arrangers that they have either bonded with or found works best for them.
As for me, of all the keyboards I have tried(in my limited experience) I hav3 come to love my Genos.
But these threads jogged my memory about bonding with an instrument.
Years ago, I played in a bluegrass band....mandolin and guitar. My mandolin is a custom built LaPlant from MN...1987.
For guitar, I was encouraged to buy a ‘real bluegrass guitar’ a Martin D28. The ones I played were great mind you but never had that sound that I was looking for.
Then I went to a small bluegrass festival and ran across an outstanding guitarist by the name of Dan Crary and he was playing a dreadnaught from a new company called Taylor guitars. I was blown away by the sound of the guitar and Dan’s playing. Dan and I visited one on one for a while...so much fun.
Anyway, a couple of years past, and I bought my first Taylor some distance from home. Took it back home and almost immediately sold that guitar to a friend of mine. I got together with my local music store and we bought a Taylor franchise.
From then on, I was the odd duck(for a while) that played Taylor guitars at bluegrass festivals.
Point is, we all want to be open minded about what brands we play...but I really believe we do bond with certain brands/types of instruments...I really see that on the Synthzone Arranger forum.
