I d/led manual and read first hundred pages so far. 1000+ pages. Wow! Seems like a lot is on the sampler and voices> Questions;
#1 how many of our gigging members are using the sampler features?
#2 Can you use your sampled sounds in your self created styles?
#3 Is there a one fingered auto chord feature? I suffer from tendanitus in left hand and have been switching to 1 finger playing.

I haven't done anything with samples, but there is a one-finger chord option.

Thank you Don. I had kind of figured that most of you guys where basically using the main auto play features and not spending that much time on the synth and sampler features. In fact I find it rather amazing that there hasn't been any serious discussion concerning that aspect of the keyboard. Reading the manual it appears that one can load samples from other sources onto the kb. So can one use the Kontact samples or the east-west sounds onto the kb? Can those samples be used when creating new styles? Man, if so, this would make this kb as powerful as one is capable of doing.

Never got into samples but, it's very popular in other cultures music Arabic, Indian, etc, Korg units does that very well with that type of music.

Hi,
Can’t help with the 1000, but I did play around with the sampler on my pa800, a few years back. Drum loops had me intrigued at the time. Also played around with drum samples. At the time I wanted to convert a couple of the Ketron styles across to korg, only way I figured I would get something close t to ketron drums was from samples. At the time I think it was wav files, but my Pa4x I think uses sound fonts. Haven’t tried it in years. I did use the drum samples in my user styles, also the drum loops.

Unfortunately don’t know if 1000 has all the sampling features of the Pa4x, but did you download some sort of an extended user manual. Korg tends to split the manuals up into every day stuff, and the extended features.
