Roland BK9 vs Ketron SD7
We can justify any decision we make when it comes to gear.
Do we keep a keyboard for the things it can do ..well? Or
do we get rid of a keyboard for what it can not do?
This could be a fine line..
The BK9 has 76 great keys, 16 track sequencer, chord sequencer,
make up tools, D beam,Super Natural sounds and a large library of sounds and styles.
and a light weight package. It shows chords that are analyzed from SMF's,
It also shows lyrics embedded in MP3 files.
These are features not on the SD7.
The SD7 has speakers, touch screen, after-touch, modeling, drum remix,
and vocal harmonizer.
These are features not on the BK9.
The BK9 has a clean powerful mic preamp, better than the SD7.
The SD7 modeling makes adding grooves, and arps a breeze to styles..
The SD7 drum remix makes it possible to add drums to SMF's and use the
intro/ending , variations and fills.
The BK9 has an easy to use 16 track sequencer that comes in handy..
The SD7 appears to be made a bit better construction wise.. both made in Italy.
I am not sure at this point if I want to use the SD7 for what it does, or find a good home
for it.. The other big plus.. AJ is only a call away..
Most likely I will continue to use the SD7..
