Hi everybody,

I thought I’d post our rendition of a Mexican folk song called “La Llorona” ( The Weeping Lady) which is based on an old spooky legend. The song is traditionally played as a slow waltz but we tryed to spice it up a bit with a Northern Mexican flavored cumbia.

Everybody in the video is “familia” including my wife on vocals, daughter on violin, niece on backing vocals, nephews on guitar, accordion, timbales and an old amigo from college on the congas. My cousin did the audio and video recording and editing.

Happy Halloween/Dia de los muertos

Thank you gentlemen for checking out our video. Probably not the kind of stuff you listen to normally, so we do appreciate you stepping out of your musical “confort zones” for a moment.

Amor y Paz

Hola!

Today November 1st and tomorrow November 2nd are a special days in Mexico and Latin America. We call these days "Dia de los muertos" - also known as "All Souls Day" It's a time to remember, honor, and celebrate the lives of those loved ones which have left this world. I'm sure we all have someone in our lives who are no longer here on earth, maybe take some time to remember them today.

Also, I wanted to post a more traditional version of the song
"La Llorona" performed by Angela Aguilar (daughter of one of Mexico's most popular Mariachi singers Pepe Aguilar.

Enjoy!
