This has been around for about 8 years or so. Any thoughts on it?

I’m looking for something to add to my PX560 for home use....won’t use it for gigging except perhaps once or twice a year when doing an instrumental gig.

Of course, I would prefer a Ketron SD90 but $$$ is too much for me right now. That said, I have been in contact with both AJ and Frank who are great to work with but options for that kind of $$$ right now are few. Truth is, I probably shouldn’t even look at a BK7M but there are some pretty good deals on it.

I’m in the exploration phase of this but would appreciate your thoughts.

That said, I have been pleasantly surprised with some of both the voices and styles/rhythms of the 560. Of course, there are styles and voices that are not useable even for home use on the 560. That said, the 560 does have some editing tools to adapt both styles and voices to something more useful.

Tx in advance for your comments.

I used one for a year or so, and liked the sounds and styles a lot. I changed because it required a lot of setup--the module, the controller, a vocal processor/harmonizer, a screen for text, plus the cords, midi cables and power supplies.
It was really a top of line module at the time, and remains a viable alternative to self-contained arranger.

I love mine although I only use it as a very handy and effective drum machine which I use for practice with my organ and for rehearsals when we don't have a drummer present. I use the FC7 foot controller sitting atop my organ pedals to control start/stop/fills. I also have it midi'ed to my VP770 which sits atop my organ. This is to have access to some of the BK7m's internal voices if needed (although most of my non-organ voice needs are covered very well with the VP770 which contains several Supernatural voices). It works very well.

Purchased it from our friend George and it's been rock-solid in terms of reliability (and that's with daily use).
The sounds are typically Roland and don't seem at all dated to me, despite it's 7 year age. Control and ergonomics are fair if you can tolerate a data wheel. I have a ton of Roland gear so I've learned to tolerate the little demon smile. If you can find one for 500.00 or less, it's a great bang for the buck if you're in the market for an arranger module.

I bought BK7-m module simply becaue I have so much Roland styles from the days I had G70.
Connected to KorgMA for fun, and it works OK the way I use it.
Left hand chords, and I swap right hand between Genos and MA.
Usually I'm playing only Genos, but it's fun to have some extra fun until a BigBrother Korg find the way to replace KMA.
Also looking at vArranger2, but not desided for sure if buy it yet.
Btw, the module is nice if have an MIDI Accordeon as well.

Here are some videos showing the different styles:

From having tried the BK-7m and comparing it to the BK-5 and
BK-3 keyboards, it certainly is the best of the bunch. Hope it works out for you.
