No, it must be ran in a DAW as a plugin. You can use it as VST, AU, or AAX.

Impuls :-) When you say standalone, do you mean as a separate hardware module that is independent of the computer, or as a standalone program on the Computer, if the latter there are a number of free VST Hosts that would allow you to run it just like a standalone program. Bill

Impuls :-) Thats the nature of VST effects..(and most instruments) they need a host, which not necessarilly needs to be a daw.. it works also very well in mainstage.. and should work well in hosts like catabille According to most studio musicians, this effect works best with BX-3 from GSI, thats the same engine as in the crumar mojo and the gemini but then in a VT package
