Two hours of live concert with Asleep at the Wheel, Willie, Merle, Ray Price and more. I loved every second of it. If you don't like it you ain't quite human. Country, swing, jazz, pop...excellent sound and video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KMPIzMnudQU
Fantastic show, I have had the DVD for a few years and the wife and I watch it a couple of times a year. Good thing they did it since 2 are gone now.
Sadly, Freddy Powers, the talented songwriter who also appears in the show, has passed as well. Freddy was a close friend of Merle and Willie and wrote or cowrote some great tunes such as "I always Get Lucky With You", "Let's Chase each Other Round the Room" and "Twinkle Twinkle Lucky Star."

In spite of my elitist, smart-assed attitude, I'll gladly admit I have played every song many, many times. Sold a three necked Fender steel (thru Carl's Music Center) to Asleep at the Wheel...there's was stolen...about 1968. They used it for years.
Had dinner with Ray Price at The Imperial House. He was staying there for an area performance, and I was working the lounge. He invited me to dinner.
Lots of people don't believe that during the "Welcome to my World" era (lat 60's). Ray price was bigger than Michael Bublea (SP?). At lease he appealed to the equivalent of a top 40 FM audience.
Lots of country artists (Ferron Young, Marty Robbins...Jimmy Dean...even the Rock around the Clock guy) were crossover dudes.
Three of my favorite Country Singers. Merle had a rough life but sure made up for it. Willie will always be one year ahead of me... in more ways than one... LOL! Ray was unique!
