Ed Shoemaker put music and an outstanding vocal to my hastily-written New Year's Eve song, inspired by Tony's post.
I thought it deserved its own thread, so here . . .

Happy New Year to all!

Being a "newcomer" here (relatively speaking)... I don't think I've ever heard Eddie sing before... not sure I've seen many of his posts... but, Wow! He made this one "his own"... and, naturally, he had a really good lyric to work with. Thanks for sharing, Don... and exposing me to Eddie Shoemaker. Super nice song. Back in East Texas, this would sell a ton of long neck beers at the bar.

Enjoyed so much. Anyone ever tell Eddie that he has a "hint" of George Jones' singing style? Not exactly but many similarities to these old ears.

Thanks to all who gave it a listen. Recording is not my strong point. I wish I could have given Don's lyrics more clarity.
I also had a 3/4 signature version going thru my head...but couldn't make it fit just right.
Feel free to join in. This is not a contest....anyone who has an idea to complement Don's lyrics is welcome.
Eddie
