Some categories will go to Korg, many others to Yamaha..

Nice find Mike. Both keyboards sound great, but that Genos...with the incredibly realistic solo sounds...makes the music really come alive.

Thanks again Mike,

Exactly. Do we need another go round on this?

You're welcome, Jingleman! I agree with you about Genos' solo sounds. They're simply the best. smile

Better than the Roland SN sounds?

Yes, Donny. They're better than Roland's SN sounds. I've heard countless demos, and even tried an Integra-7 a few times in different stores. Yamaha's high-end arrangers have the best, most realistic acoustic instrument sounds. However, having said this, there are many very good SN sounds.

As far as strings, I've never been crazy about Yamaha's. I much prefer the SN ones. I've also compared Kurzweil's and Roland's. I believe Kurzweil's strings are more realistic. Some actually gave me goosebumps. smile

I'm considering getting the MODX, because it sounds even better than the Motif XF, but I still don't think it's strings are great. I'll probably want another keyboard or module, or even a string library I can load in the MODX or Motif.

Maybe, someone who has experience with the MODX's strings and the Integra-7's may like to comment.

Thank you. smile

I think this must be my dream setup, both Genos and PA4x76.. cool
This is also one of the best 1 to 1 comparisations I've see at the web so far.

Yes there are differences, and if not, it would be a sign of stagnation in developement.

I guess both are played 'stright out off the box'.
Genos is the best sounding arranger from Yamaha 'till date, but it still has a bit of the CD'is cold chrisp edges in sound.
In my ears, the PA4X has a softer and more comfortable sound.
I'm going to take another look at the video, but am I wrong if I say that the Korg styles played seems to be a bit more lazy and not so busy as Yamaha?

Tnx for the link Mike. smile

Thanks, Gunnar Jonny! The Genos' styles do seem busier. It all depends on what you like. For me, the busier the better. If I were a real musician, I would probably want styles that are less busy, so I could fill them in with my playing. Of course, one can always "silence" some parts, so they're less busy, or simply not use variation 4, which is the busiest.

I appreciate your input. smile
