I use a plastic one, but I'm going back to an all metal one. Plastic just doesn't have the resonance. It's kind of like the difference between an acoustic guitar and a Dobro, there's no substitute in certain situations.

I've gone to a virtual Kazoo; just couldn't get the sound I wanted from the conventional ones. All it took was a new laptop, a VST, an interface, intensive editing, etc. . .
Still not totally satisfied, so considering hiring an actual Kazoo player to share the stage with me. Maybe I'll get a nekid female one. That way the attention won't be so much on how authentic the sound is.
