For just $ 250 it is pretty impressive.
There is a newer model out the PSR E463

You're right Eric...it sounds pretty good. But remember, I'm on serious pain medication. 😜

I'm not surprised Yamaha has some great bang for the buck no need to lay out big bucks any more.

Thanks, Eric:

I'll do my best to take a peek at one next time I'm in the "big City" and near Guitar Center.

This thing sounds pretty good in the hands of a talented player.

The cool thing is that you can put batteries in and take it anywhere .... keys

That might be a great keyboard using the bose s1 pro. Total battery power. Play anywhere.

My #1 beef with these low-end PSR's is that there is no solid, predictable way to play "on bass" chords. A lot of the pop music I like to play is rife with slash chords, descending bass lines, etc. You have to step all the way up to the PSR-S670 to get this functionality. And even then your best choice is the weird "Ai Fingered" mode. No separate button for bass inversion, and nothing comparable to the modes used by Roland, Korg, GEM, etc.

(Curiously, Yamaha's mid-range piano arrangers like the DGX-535 have a "MultiFinger" mode, which is different from and BETTER THAN the MultiFinger mode on my Tyros 5! Why Yamaha does not standardize on this and proliferate it across their model line, I don't know.)

By comparison a used BK-5 sold for $290 on eBay Tuesday. I didn't want another keyboard cluttering up the closet. But if I wanted to get a young person interested in organs or arrangers, that's miles ahead of a PSR-E. It has low current draw and for portable use, could easily be driven from a laptop "power bank." And Casio's CT-X3000 has a much broader feature set in this price range. My $.02
