I have a 3000. One seq file I have has one track that is much too loud. It needs to be adjusted. How do I get into an individual track to alter the volume.

Thanks.......Mike Feligno

depends whether it is a technics format save or multitrack type save.

if technics, the volume could be in a panel memory, change the panel memory(ies) and do a panel write to set up the correct conditions at the start of the song. (I think the 3000 introduced the panel write feature?)

if multitrack, the volume could be at a control event at the beginning of the track, go into step record and edit the volume number when you cursor up to it.

The 3000 donīt have the Panel Write feature. Maybe it comes with the 5000?

Hi Lindoz,
I'm pretty sure the panel write was introduced on the 3000 because on the 2000 I remember you had to do about 6 or 7 button pushes to achieve the same function, and I remember saying at the time what a great time saver it was. It's probably inside the sequencer menu somewhere in a different place to the 6000 screen.

The KN3000 does have the panel write function. See page 75 of your manual, Mike. Panel write sets the way the keyboard starts the sequence. It will not change the velocity settings where changes occur after the sequence starts. See page 71 if you want to adjust velocity at a specific measure if the change needs to be made after the sequence starts. I think Alec is right. Your problem is probably in Panel Memory setups.

You are right as usual. I look on my kn3000 and found it on the SEQ/EDIT page 2.

Thanks to all of you who responded to my dilemma. I plan to take a look at the panel write feature today or tomorrow. Remember, all I want to do is lower the volume when a certain instrument starts within the sequence. Right now, it is very over-powering.

Mike, if I understand your last post, you are trying to reduce the volume of a specific instrument that starts somewhere after the sequence has started. If the instrument has already been assigned to a part at the beginning of the sequence, panel write will help. If the instrument assignment for a part is changed from something else mid sequence (without using a panel memory change) and it is too loud at that point, you need to determine what measure the change takes place and do your editing at that point. See page 71 of your manual for that change. It is easiest though, if you can just use panel memory selection as the way of controling volume of each part.
