Good advice but there’s so much more to add... Let start me with ear training, melodic, harmonic and rhythmic. Music is an aural art form. Reading music is a great skill but I feel those that can’t play without printed music are missing out on so much of the joy of music. Don’t neglect your greatest asset as a musician - your ears!

YES! I couldn’t agree more!

Lately, most of everything I play (other than working with my piano students) is by ear, and feeling . . . A wonderful tool to have in your toolbox . . .
