Hello,

One of my other hobbies is gaming & as a gamer I've been very delighted to see companies remake "mini" versions of retro consoles but using modern technology and so forth.

So I was thinking if this could be applied to a classic instrument from past that you loved, what would you like to see remade again?

I love the remake of the Hammond SK1 to sooth the quells of not having to carry around a B3 cool2 ..other then that newer things will come always come along as technology changes day by day..
That said.........

I am already happy with the G70 smile

I just spent the morning playing VST's (EP) using the G70 and EA7 as controller . Also playing the sounds in the G70 and EA7..
I come away shaking my head, how superior the G70 is. Key feel, touch screen and quick ease of making modifications (Styles, SMF, and all real time controls).

Sure if Roland combined the features of the G70 and EA7, it would be very interesting, but I have everything I need in the G70, and any media/audio playback features via my smart phone or tablet.

G70 with touchscreen laptop, leaves nothing to be desired. grin

I have the studio SRX card installed , this gives me the great bass and drums, and great EP.

I am not sure if the trade off using the EA7(lighter and added features) over the playability and ease of use with the G70.

I really don't need a remake of the G70. I played them all and overall I rather play the G70 over the BK9, EA7, SD7, and PA4x.

I'd remake accordions and bagpipes into useful kitchen utensils.

... you know why there are so many bagpipes in marching bands?
(They're trying to get away from the noise!)

Danny, if you are into gaming, take a look at Alien Arena, a game my son created several years ago, and continues to update regularly. http://red.planetarena.org/

Good luck, I cannot get past the second level,

I can't even lift a G70 by myself! But I wouldn't mind a remake of the BK9 with all of its bugs worked out.

Or this: (Hammond S6 chord organ. Probably the first mass-produced Arranger)

Or, this: (Kawlabo Spiron EM-5100)

Or this: (Dualo Du-touch L)

Portable auto-accompaniment! Because some of us aren't coordinated enough to pump a bellows and push buttons at the same time!!

Let me just throw this question into the mix....

No matter what KB they ever remake in the future ....
Will it BETTER your playing skills?

Thoughts?..

I know it to be a fact. The instrument's playability will improve your skill level.
This is true for me.. My skills are better playing the G70, interaction of keys to sound and the comfort of a more natural response. Compared to the EA7, I can feel and hear the difference when I play each one..

If I play the G70 for any extended time, it is hard to want to play the EA7.

So yes an instrument can and will definitely improve your playing skill.

Thats an odd question..

The expected question would be: will it sound better with your current playing skills..

I have not included Hammond as there is a boat load available.
There have been plenty of classic instruments over the years that have something that is missing on modern instruments; however it is difficult to put into words.

Yamaha's Reface series brings back classic sounds in mini keyboards with speakers even as well as MIDI so they can be played from full sized keyboards.

Reface CP - Electric piano sounds ( plus a hidden acoustic piano patch )
Reface DX - An FM sysnth with improved patch programming UI over the original DX synths
Reface CS - Analog modelling synth

And they are less than $300

Oh, one more that I forgot... Note carefully the SHAPE of the keys! BETTER than Stradella bass on an accordion (or the Axis-49 controllers which came much later.)
