Hi!

Is there anyone who has both Genos and MODX?
I wonder if MODX is a complement to Genos. If you
connected via midi, can you mix Geno's styles with MODX arpeggios?

Tempo synchronization has been available via midi since the 80s, (You just have to match the time signatures) the answer is yes.
The one thing you have to remember is that the Genos & Modx are opposites in that everything is done for you on the Genos (Just like any arranger) whereas the Modx gives you the basics and you then mould it to your requirements. (Hence the superior real time control of a synth/workstation compared to the limited controls of an arranger)
It is best to go out and try them to see if they suit what you want, as the operation is significantly different. (Personally with a Genos (And assuming you want to stay with Yamaha) I would save some more money and go with the Montage)

I own both...
My modx8 is a great companion to the Genos..

You can mic arp’s with styles and multipads works very well..
You can easilly set up a midi zone on the modx and use it to controll the chord detection of the Genos, as well as add arps to it..

What my modx8 adds to Genos is quite a long list..
-88 keys
-arps, multiple at the same time
-a lovely fm engine
- much more suited for daw and ipad controll then the genos
- sound edditing and layering/splitting 3 levels beyound the genos
And many many more features...

Its a lovely combination
Also in piano/dp, orchestral and synth sounds it adds a huge diversity..

Is it better then my Kronos? For many things it is..
What makes it stand out above the kronos is the user friendlyness..

Feel free to ask more specific questions, and i will try to answer them..

Thanks for your quick reply. I have the opportunity to borrow a MODX 6 next week, so I will try to see if it is something I have use for.

Do yourself a favor, make sure you know how to operate the thing, read the manual upfront...
