Hi ,
Wondering if anyone has ever replaced a key on a Korg pa800. Gave it to the granddaughter a few years back , never used it , so gave it back. Unfortunately during their move, one of the keys got broken, and unfortunately they didn’t think to keep the piece of plastic that broke off.

Have a couple of options , try and dummy it up by trying to somehow fill it in, or buy a replacement key . Not sure how difficult it would be to swap keys. Fortunately the key does play, just the plastic is broken.

Unfortunately a 7 hr drive to get to a service centre, and cost of shipping each way is too expensive.

Any thoughts.

The hardest part is finding a replacement key. Go to Syntaur.com to get the replacement key. Easy to do the replacement. I've done hundreds myself. I have swapped out keys before to locations on the keyboard where the broken key would not be used as much. That would be an emergency fix while at the actual gig.

Thank you. Bachus and Salsaman.
Fortunately not an emergency. Just a shame to have it sitting there broken.

Thank you for the Santaur link, found a few outlets here in Australia which I was not expecting, saves me trying to get from overseas.

Really appreciate your help Salsaman.

Hi Rikki:

When convenient, please keep us posted about "how the surgery on your Keyboard went?" Best of luck.

Hi Donny,
Hubby starteted looking up utube videos. Bit of a worry if he gets involved. Discovered over the years if I want a new toaster or kettle, I just give him the old one to fix, next day Guaranteed I’ll have to buy a new one. Haha.

Yes, might need to number the screws, or he’ll end up with a few over.

Other option still might be to dummy it up, the key actually works , just got a big chunk of plastic missing off the edge.

Think I’ll go thru the video’s with him first, then decide.
