Help!! How can I easily view notes being output on a single MIDI channel, in real time?

For example, I press a C key in the style section, and my arranger outputs C2, E2, G2 on Accompaniment track #4, on MIDI channel 14.

If these notes are displayed on a staff that would be great, but not essential. Even some kind of scrolling text browser, or "piano roll" would be fine, as long as I can distinguish the individual notes.
[Some of you could probably pick out the tones just hearing them, but my ear isn't that well-developed. I can tell when a desired note is missing or "off" (unexpected), but not necessarily which notes are sounding.]

The last time I did this type of analysis, I had to score a lengthy chord progression, play the chords, and then analyze the recorded sequence. Difficult, and rather boring!!

The only computer-based sequencer I've used is XG Works. That was a LONG time ago, and I'm not even sure it will run on Windows 7. So if the answer is sequencer software, I need a basic one that's baby simple and easy to use. In addition to Windows I have an iPad at my disposal, if iOS-based stuff is easier to use.

Please help me by offering some suggestions based on your experience. Thanks!!

Ted if you are not talking about real time while you are playing the BK9, One man band includes a program that will analyze the tracks and show all channels in score.

Well, I am talking about real time while I'm playing.

I want to analyze how the arranger is transposing a basic pattern based on the chords I'm playing in real time. When I press a key or keys in the chord recognition area, I want to see exactly what notes are triggered and coming out of a particular track. Usually I would look at one track at a time, but in some cases I might want to see the chord or pad channel overlaid with the bass.

In the past I've done this by recording a long progression of the most common chords (in several keys!) Playing all of the chords in the progression while recording to a MIDI sequencer. Then going back through the sequence in microscope edit to see exactly how the arranger transposed the pattern for each chord. That's about as fun as it sounds :-(

It would be easier, and a better teaching tool, if I could see which notes are coming out in real time. The best case would be if it flashed the notes up on a staff, but even a text display would be better than reviewing a recorded sequence after the fact. There HAS to be a real-time MIDI analyzer app that does this, for Windows or iPad.
