I've just been sent this link by Peter Bentley http://www.organfax.co.uk/news.html - CRAZY or what?

If you read nothing else, you have got to read this http://www.musiciansunion.org.uk/articles/two_in_a_bar16.shtml

Things seem to be looking up slightly on this front. Have a look at my News page now on www.organfax.co.uk/news.html to see what has improved.

Have a 'private' event, don't charge, have it in a village hall, limit the audience to 250 and make sure they've all gone home by 11.30 pm and there should be no problem!

Seriously, though, the Musicians Union site is a mine of information.

this stupid legislation has been rumbling on for months. A good friend reckoned it would cost him £3000 a year for his music academy. Last I heard there were moves to exempt teaching facilities, which surely should include Technics Music Academies, otherwise how do you get the next generation children interested in playing music?

The ignorance of politicians truly knows no bounds
