This is only my opinion acoustic concert grand vs. CP88. Back in the 70s I worked for the Steinway dealer in sales in Providence, RI. We had a 7 foot Steinway model B and a 9 foot Model D concert grand pianos in our rental department. I have never played any digital piano that comes close to the sound and feeling I got when I played either of those instruments. As a side note I don’t have the time at the moment to watch the whole video and not sure I’ll change my mind when I do watch it. I will add 2 years ago I owned a Roland FP80 bought in part on the recommendation of Bill Lewis. That FP80 is one fine digital piano but it still could not give me the same sense of satisfaction playing a 7 or 9 foot Steinway.

Don’t see how anybody could compare the 2, no matter how realistic the digitals may sound. It doesn’t feel the same.

Well....I wander how a comparison on the Genos CFX to the Steinway would be? Of course the Steinway will be better in most regards....but I would like to hear a comparison anyways.

Lee, I have a Genos. I can vouch there is no comparison to a Steinway model D or B. My thought is we’d all be disappointed.

Nothing like the real thing...I would take a Yamaha CFX to a Steinway any day...

Didn't even bother to listen. Nothing digital car replicate the effect of hammers hittings strings, strings vibrating , the sympathetic harmonics of adjacent strings vibrating and a wooden soundboard moving air and filling a room. Also the pianists touch creating his own sound on the instrument can't be replicated on a digital board.
Record both and listen to thme thru speakers and they would be a lot closer.
Sort of like comparing a real leslie moving air and a digital one in a clone.

Bill have you ever spent some time playing a Roland V-piano?

It addresses all the things you mentioned and much more..

If not check out the Roland videos on youtube.. There are 4 short videos explain the V-piano.
