I asked this question on the Korg forum with no response, and assume it can't be done.

I usually use registrations for my songs including SMF, but find it burdensome to create OTS for all. I want to be able to change instruments at will while in the score window, but the "Keyboard Set Library" goes to the first instrument in that category. It looks like OTS is the only answer as there is not time to search for my desired instrument when I push a category button. A set list means getting out of the score window in the middle of a song. I really don't want to bring my module for lead sounds.

You can change this in the Global Menu, I'll get back to you what you need to unstick.

Then you can select the user keyboard set library without a keyboard set being automatically selected.

Here how your turn the automatic selection of Keyboard Sets off

Press Global

General Controls

Then the Interface Tab at the bottom of the screen

Look at the bottom of the Interface Tab

Auto Select

Then unselect the Keyboard Set Library

(I also untick the style box so when you change the sets the style dos the change either).
Finally press Menu Arrow at the top and select

Write Auto Select Preferences and Ok to save

Hope that helps.

You should now be able to select keyboard sets from your Keyboard Set Library without it changing styles or selecting the first set in the Library.

Many thanks, it gets me to the proper page in one push, and the favorite is there to be chosen. It is an improvement, but still means exciting out of the staff window and two pushes, then going back to my song. I was hoping for one button to activate my instrument in that category. I guess it is either making custom OTS for every song or bring along the SD40.

Under less time sensitive conditions ,I could use the Keyboard Library or list favorites in User slots, so it is still more convenient than before.

Thanks MusicalMemories

Thanks for the reminder. I've been setting up OTS for Styles and forgot about the favorites list . Worked on it in the past but revisited it and set it up. Great feature on the BK-9 for live performers.

Hi Bill

The BK9 was great in many ways. I just got in a hurry and lost patience with balancing everything. I wish I had of.
