Wow! that looks pretty cool, thanx ... So in effect, I can use all those styles on a kn2600 through an sd card yes? And I know this will make me sound like such a noob, but I've heard brief descriptions, but what is the difference between NX and PCM sound?

Sounds easy don't it....chuckle....
and you are thinking of buying a second hand KN2400 or KN2600 which may or may not have the original software with it to enable these files to be transferred either by floppy disks or USB connection to whichever of these two keyboards you buy.
Straight out of the box straight into cubase I think you said - with either the KN2400 or KN2600 secondhand you may find that you experience a significant gap between opening the box and commencing to use cubase...

I estimate this gap to be 5 seconds - the time it takes to plug the midi leads in.

Our friend Baz-minor is a student somewhere in the UK - has heard the KN5000 and thinks it's awesome but wants to add 'more sounds/more rhythms'if he purchases the KN2400 or KN2600. It has been suggested that Willum's site has a complete download originally from the now defunct Technics.com web site but it is clear that Baz wants to get on with working with cubase. My advice is that working with a secondhand KN2400 or KN2600 possibly without the original software might be a longer process and somewhat more complex than purchasing a KN5000 with which latter instrument he can get straight into cubase as you suggest in 5 seconds approx.

no, the 2400 and 2600 have exactly the same midi sockets as the 5000. Thus as far as working in cubase straight away is concerned there is no difference between any of them.

wow, i never realised I would get this many replies, yes I do want to start recording using cubase immediately and yes I have heard the kn5000 and I think its awesome. It all depends on how much these items are sold for, but I think I will go for the kn2600, because I can transfer the styles to sd via the keyboard (very slow I know, but oh well) ... does anybody know which has the best user friendly on board system? best on board mixer?....Thanx again, Baz

[B]wow, i never realised I would get this many replies,

Hi Baz.
Software is almost always included with the purchased Keyboard. But you will find much help if you are short of anything.
You have more chance of getting the software you want for the last keyboard Technics made the KN2600, than getting software for a now very much older second hand KN5000
I forgot to say the free downloads I refered to were made available by Technics player. You are new to the site,so when you get advice from Technis Player take it.
His knowledge is vast on any aspect of keyboards.
Kind regards.
Joe.

Yes good luck Baz.
Alec I think we are communicating at cross purposes - I was refering to the time Baz might spend dealing with other matters relating to a KN2400 or a KN2600 before he even gets into the realms of connecting his keyboard purchase to cubase software.
Never mind t'lad seems to know what he wants to do, eh...
