I used to demo organs, "back in the day". Yamaha, Lowery, Kimball... It's really hard to make a Kimball sound good, but they were all easy to sell back then. The store would pay about a hundred bucks for one and sell it for 4-5 hundred. Just make it look simple. I remember thinking that these home organs, had zero in common with B-3 or C-3. Different market, different target. The biggest, finest organ I had was Yamaha FS500, It retailed for something like $15000. and ANY of today's arrangers will do more and sound better, with the right amplification.

Don, I also demoed Hammond organs in mid 1960's. After Hammond , neither Thomas , Lowery or any other brand did not sound good. And Yes simplicity was important.. This was the first time I was taught to "sell the sizzle not the steak"

I demoed and sold Hammond organs at a West Palm Beach music store in the 60's.
